  • I am an English and German to Spanish translator (I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation from Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona).
  • My areas of specialisation are Biomedicine and Pharma.
  • I have a Master’s Degree in Medical and Healthcare Translation from Jaume I University  of Castellón (Spain). I have also attended many courses and seminars in the fields  of Biomedicine and Pharma.
  • I have been working in the translation industry since 2007, first as a proofreader and project manager for an agency, and as a full-time freelance translator for the last five years.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • October 2008 –  present: Full-time freelance translator and proofreader

Translation and editing/proofreading projects (through intermediaries or directly for the end client) for leading companies mainly in the fields of Biomedicine and Pharma. Some examples:

    • Translation and proofreading of surgical technique guides and product descriptions for an orthopedic medical device company.
    • Translation into Spanish of some chapters of Clinical Anesthesia Procedures of the Massachusetts General Hospital: Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, 2013.
    • Translation into Spanish of patient information, protocols and informed consents of Observational Immune Tolerance Induction Research Program (ObsITI), 2013.
    • Translation into Spanish of Report on Psychotherapy in Mental Health & Addiction Services, Government of Spain, 2011.
    • Translation into Spanish of Patient Information Leaflets (PILs) and Summaries of Product Characteristics (SPCs) for a pharmaceutical company, 2010-2012.
